2026 Wedding Trends

2025 was a fun year for weddings with all the bows, mismatched bridesmaids dresses and maximalist vibes. The wedding industry keeps us on our toes with new trends emerging all the time. We did a deep dive into the 2026 trends and we’re excited to share a whole new look for weddings.

It’s all about Personalization

Couples have been leaning away from the traditional wedding expectations and running towards a more personal experience. They want to weave their own style into their wedding day. We loved this fun idea of having custom envelope liners for your invitations. This particular invitation set included a hand painted drawing of the wedding venue. Such a stunning detail! We also love the idea of adding the couples’ name using a neon sign and turning it into a photo booth!

Wedding Weekend

Let’s talk about how much pressure weddings can bring to even the most relaxed couples. There are so many elements to execute and plan for. More couples have decided to break up the wedding into two separate days. You may be thinking that sounds like more work…consider it from a different perspective: One day is dedicated to welcoming guests and exchanging vows. The next day is all about the celebration. Also consider that it guests would enjoy having two shorter events on separate days versus a 6-7 hour all day event. If you’re thinking of going this route, we suggest finding a venue that is available for a whole weekend or two locations that are within your budget. One of our clients’ choose to use Camp Buckhorn at Paris Mountain State Park. This venue is available to rent for the ENTIRE weekend with adorable cabins on site!

Documentary Style Photography and Videography

Photography is essential in capturing your big day. The photos are a beautiful reminder of a wonderful moment in your life. Of course, you want to truly capture that day. Couples are asking for candid shots versus following the usual posed portraits tradition. Let’s face it, not everyone feels comfortable in front of a camera. Being in the moment and not worrying about the camera can create some beautiful shots. There is nothing like that genuine smile after vows are shared or the excitement that couples feel as they walk down the aisle as the ceremony ends. Talk to your photographer about how to create this look for your wedding. Every photographer has a different style and it’s important to consider if their style fits the look you want.

Make it high fashion – Why not go over the top?

Couples are being very thoughtful in creating an overall aesthetic for their wedding day. First, we’ve seen that wedding wear has expanded into several outfits versus just a wedding dress and suit. Brides are enlisting stylists to create a curated look for the entire day. This could be a anything from a pretty slip for getting ready, wedding dress for the ceremony, cocktail gown for cocktail hour and a fun reception two piece set. We’re seeing grooms become bolder with their color choices instead of the traditional gray, black or navy blue. We’ve recently seen several of our clients instituting a very specific dress code for their guests. There are no rules when it comes to this trend, everything from monotoned color palettes, all black, or even vintage thrifted. This looks beautifully coordinated in photos and videos. This is a fun way for guests to show their support and add your own style.

Tone it Up

A wedding color palette sets the stage for many design elements as well. Using one color group, couples are using different shades to bring some character to the overall look. Take blue for example, you can use softer tones such as periwinkle for florals and linens while adding darker tones such as navy blue or midnight blue to stationery and table settings. You can even add different textures to elevate the look. We have even seen bridesmaids’ dresses following this trend. Dresses with varying shades of the same color paired with different materials creates an elegant touch. We really enjoy bold color statements but this tonal trend has an air of elegance and charm without all the fuss of blending different colors together.

Cozy, Close and Personal

Wedding vows are a beautiful exchange where couples can share their commitment to each other. It is a very sweet moment but it can feel strange sharing such deep feelings in front of an audience. Couples are opting for a private vow reading outside of the ceremony. We love the idea of couples being able to truly express themselves without the added pressure of a crowd. Vows can even be exchanged before the ceremony begins. The day of can be extremely stressful and a private vow exchange can help relieve the pressure. Spending time with your significant other will remind you about why this day is important!
