Elevated Elegance: Creating a monochromatic wedding style

Choosing a wedding color palette can feel daunting. While we love using color, there is a beauty and elegance in choosing a more classic color palette of black and white. It gives us those timeless, classic, and modern vibes. This color palette is especially versatile because it can work in any setting, a modern rooftop venue or even a rustic outdoor mountain venue. Let’s talk about how adding small details with those colors can add a soft romantic elegance to your event. We recently had the pleasure of working with our clients for a fall wedding at The Viewpoint at Buckhorn Creek in Greenville, SC. This hidden gem is at the foot of the Blue Ridge Mountains and provides sweeping views along with 4 different spaces for every type of event. Our bride wanted to focus on a more minimal approach to the decor and embrace the venue’s natural charm. She created fun and thoughtful details like customized place cards, welcome sign and seating chart. She also utilized every space the venue offers. The outdoor ceremony space was decorated with two beautiful pillar arrangements, an arch with draping, as well two large aisle markers at the end caps. These florals really brought the whole space together!

For the cocktail hour and the reception, they chose to use the outdoor patio area and have a tented dinner. The venue already has a tent on site. They also provide all the tables and chairs you would need, which is definitely a big bonus. They chose a simple but pretty arrangement of pillar candles encircled by baby’s breath. The candles brought a soft, warm glow to the atmosphere. There were several personalized decor elements, like place cards with handwritten thank-you notes, and menu cards

The key to pulling off this look is to be very intentional. Focus on choosing which color will be your “base” and which one will be the “accent”. It’s also important to add a pop of another neutral such as a cream tone or even a fun metallic champagne if you’re feeling a little adventurous 🙂 We have a feeling this classic style will continue to a design staple in the event world! Happy Planning!
