Whimsy in Bloom: Planning an Elegant Garden Party Wedding

Each year, weddings have certain themes that become an instant classic. Since 2024, we’ve seen the Garden Party theme blossom into an elegant and whimsical design aesthetic that couples are embracing! We absolutely love it! With nods to Bridgerton and the rise in the cottagecore aesthetic, we can see why this trend is now a staple. Who wouldn’t want to feel as if a fairytale came to life with beautiful florals and breezy color palettes? We’ve talked about why it’s wonderful, now let’s get down to the nitty gritty: How do you create this theme with any budget? We understand not everyone has an unlimited budget or even a larger budget to work with. We’ll share several ways to bring this theme to life without feeling that your whole wedding budget has gone out the window!

  1. Choose the right venue: We’re not saying you have to find an actual garden. You certainly can, and that would be gorgeous, but there are other options! You can look for venues that offer a soft, romantic vibe with an outdoor area featuring trees, shrubbery, and planted flowers. You could even consider using a tented space or a greenhouse! Many venues have an open area outside that can accommodate a tent. You can even think a little outside the box and find a rooftop garden! Clients have used Avenue in downtown Greenville, SC to create this look. Avenue has a beautiful rooftop area that can easily be transformed into an urban garden paradise.
  2. Incorporate florals: I’m sure this is an obvious answer but trust me, there are several elements to consider! When we say florals, many clients instantly think that their budget couldn’t possibly incorporate enough for what’s needed. In reality, floral placement and the type of flowers used can really make all the difference!
  3. Use decor that feels organic and natural, think linen signage, incorporating moss, or dried florals.

Bringing the Garden Party to life: A Morning Glory FarmWedding

We absolutely love Morning Glory Farm. Located in scenic Unionville, NC, it’s a beautiful property surrounded by trees, greenery and an idyllic lake view. It’s perfect for a stunning ceremony.

We planned this wedding as an intimate and romantic gathering for 50 guests. Margo and JD asked for an event that embraced the gorgeous venue and had an understated elegance. Our team focused on adding color to each space as well as elegant details. For the ceremony, the aisles were lined with ferns and colorful blooms. We used classic garden white chairs that really popped against the beautiful setting. A stunning color-filled ground arch framed the ceremony on the stone platform. The lake and trees in the background, combined with a beautiful blue sky were breathtaking!

Morning Glory Farm recently added the most stunning greenhouse on its property. We couldn’t get over how beautiful it turned out. Built with glass panels and set in the perfect spot for an intimate wedding reception or ceremony. This greenhouse absolutely shines at sunset as the light reflects off the chandeliers and candle light. You are surrounded by nature, but you still feel a level of elegance and charm everywhere you look!
