A tale of two venues: A sweet & moody spring wedding

Weddings are all about decisions. One of the biggest decisions is deciding on a venue. Everything else is built around this choice, so couples often opt for one venue. While we do agree that the logistics are simpler with one venue, we love when couples decide to incorporate multiple locations. Each location has its own unique vibe! Austin & Melissa envisioned a beautiful garden ceremony followed by an elegant rooftop reception. This is the perfect example of how to execute a wedding with two venues!

It’s all about Location: The ceremony took place at Rock Quarry Gardens in downtown Greenville, SC. The wide open space has a fairytale feel to it with lush flowers and cobblestone bridges. This venue is a city park but you are completely transported away when you enjoy the waterfalls and greenery all around you! They chose a beautiful color palette of deep tones. This looked beautiful against the dark wood of their wedding arch.

Downtown Greenville has an amazing vibrancy and so many pretty spots for photos. One of our favorites is the Grand Bohemian Lodge. The couple was whisked away for photos and the results are breathtaking. The aesthetics of the lodge focus on nature and elements found in the area. The Grand Bohemian has a curated and extensive collection that rotates seasonally, making it a perfect backdrop for photos!

Guests took a shuttle from the Rock Quarry Gardens to UP on the Roof located on the rooftop the Embassy Suites downtown. The shuttles were a thoughtful way to transport guests instead of searching for parking! We’re giving the guest experience a 10/10!! The guests then enjoyed drinks as they took in the sweeping views! We can’t say enough good things about the team at UP on the Roof. The events managers are so helpful and provide flexibility on how the space can be set up. They really focus on creating the right set up for you. The catering team created the perfect set up for a breakfast buffet. Can we just say that breakfast for dinner is our new favorite thing! The bartenders kept us all laughing. DJ Mitch Mack was spinning all the jams and everyone ended up on the dance floor! Even for a Monday night, this party was high energy! We highly recommend this venue if you’re looking for a modern and chic setting for your special day!

At the end of the day, it’s YOUR wedding day. Don’t be afraid to have multiple locations for your nuptial events. It does take more work logistically and there are more details to iron out! Working a wedding coordinator or planner will definitely take some of that pressure away and ensure you have a smooth transition from one location to the next. Don’t be afraid to create your own unique vision!
